KC Navarro Reflects on Overcoming Challenges in TNA Wrestling

KC Navarro recently competed in the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) X Division Championship at Slammiversary. Although he didn’t secure the victory, the match held significant meaning for him. Navarro faced his mentor, Amazing Red, and highlighted a memorable sequence where Red outperformed him.

Navarro also discussed his struggles with a fear of heights. This became evident as he attempted to scale the pillar to access the rope and vie for the title. He expressed how participating in this Ultimate X match was more meaningful than his previous appearance at Rebellion last year.

So, this Ultimate X was a lot more special than the first one I was in at Rebellion last year. See, me, I’m not a big fan of heights. So, it actually takes me a while to climb that thing, and I have to see what I’m gonna do,

Navarro emphasized the importance of having Amazing Red in the match. He explained Red’s influence on his career, noting that Red had mentored him throughout. Despite their similar statures, Red achieved significant successes in the X Division, making the moment even more special for Navarro.

Having shared the ring with Amazing Red in his comeback match, Navarro expressed gratitude for the experience. He hoped Red would return to the ring again. Reflecting on the previous year’s Slammiversary, Navarro recalled competing with a torn ACL against other renowned wrestlers like The Hardys and The Nemeths.

This year presented a new challenge, entering the Ultimate X match with a revamped knee. Given the match’s dangerous nature, he took risks that could have led to further injuries. Regardless, Navarro appreciated the chance to compete for the X Division title alongside prominent wrestlers like Leon Slater and Frankie Kazarian.

Navarro acknowledged that confronting his fear of heights is a necessary part of his profession.

He maintained that keeping a strong mentality and positive attitude is crucial. Once inside the ring, Navarro prioritized staying focused and healthy, aiming to walk out as a champion.

Currently, Navarro finds himself in a rivalry with TNA world champion Nic Nemeth. Successfully maneuvering this feud might elevate him to a prominent position within the wrestling roster.
