Judge Adam Levy’s Show ‘Adam’s Law’ Debuts

Judge Adam Levy’s new courtroom show, Adam’s Law, begins this month. He attributes his preparedness to lessons learned from his mother, Judge Judy Sheindlin, whose show Judge Judy aired for over 25 years. Now, she passes the baton to her son, who has previously appeared in other courtroom shows including Justice on Trial and Tribunal Justice.

Prior to his television roles, Levy served two terms as the District Attorney in Putnam County, New York. He was one of three judges on Tribunal, but Adam’s Law will have him as the sole adjudicator. This program by CBS Media Ventures is set to premiere on Monday.

“Well, we dive into the nitty-gritty,” Judge Adam Levy remarked during an interview at Stamford Studios after a taping of the show this summer.

According to Levy, the show emphasizes detailed investigation and analysis. Beyond what litigants present in their arguments, the show examines backgrounds, verifying the accuracy of claims to ensure justice.

Two women grew emotional in the cases heard that day, expressing emotional testimonies. Levy stated that while he recognizes the personal nature of these stories, his focus remains on the facts over emotions.

“The law is about facts,” he said. “These are real cases with committed individuals. Regardless of the case’s monetary value, justice and thorough attention are priorities.”

Levy realized he was ready for this show when his mother advised him of it. He expressed contentment with his previous commitments but acknowledged the timing was right for a new chapter.

His courtroom approach is similar to Judge Judy’s. “We both can’t stand nonsense,” he elaborated. He stressed the importance of truthfulness over deception in legal proceedings and emphasized the focus on seeking the truth rather than fabricating stories.

Growing up, Levy did not fully grasp the extent of his mother’s work commitments but now values the work ethic she instilled. This ethic, he hopes, will influence his children despite their belief that his dedication borders on “crazy.” His passion for the work, he says, makes extensive preparation easier.

Adam’s Law was developed by Judge Judy Sheindlin and produced by her Queen Bee Productions. It premiered on Monday in national syndication.
