Jay-Z Concert Delayed Due to Safety Concerns at Yankee Stadium

On Sunday night, hundreds of Jay-Z fans found themselves outside Yankee Stadium in New York for hours. The concert faced delays after some individuals tried to force their way into the venue. Jay-Z’s performance eventually began after midnight, and he issued an apology to his audience citing crowd safety issues.

Reports indicate that a large number of people attempted to rush the gates, leading to a temporary closure of the stadium’s entrances. Jay-Z addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of safety, stating, “There’s 10,000 people outside. I don’t want to start the music and people get trampled.” These remarks were shared widely via social media.

A joint statement from the Yankees, Roc Nation, and Live Nation explained the situation. It highlighted that numerous people, who did not hold tickets, gathered in large groups and tried to breach the stadium’s security at various entrances. Consequently, the gates were shut for an extended duration.

With the assistance of the NYPD, the gates were eventually reopened in a cautious manner to ensure the safety of all involved, both inside and outside the stadium. The New York Police Department referred inquiries regarding the incident to the joint statement.
