The Baltimore Ravens made significant roster adjustments on Tuesday, signaling the potential return of rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane. The team released wide receiver Chris Moore from the active roster and removed wide receiver Xavier Guillory from the practice squad.
Lane sustained a fractured wrist during his debut game in Week 1 of the regular season. He is now eligible to rejoin the team after being on injured reserve. Speculation suggests that Moore will join the practice squad while Lane is expected to return to the 53-man active roster.
Baltimore’s head coach, Jesse Minter, has not dismissed the possibility of Lane playing in the upcoming Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns. Minter expressed satisfaction with Lane’s rehabilitation progress, stating, “Ja’Kobi’s done a really good job. When you’re on IR, how much can you do physically to be ready to play that first week back? He’s in a real good place from a conditioning standpoint. We’ll see how that shakes out on Wednesday.”
During training camp, Lane impressed coaches and gained trust from star quarterback Lamar Jackson. As a third-round draft pick, Lane’s return is anticipated to bolster the Ravens’ passing game.
The Ravens will face the Browns on Sunday, with the game scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
