2 hours ago 0

Police are conducting an investigation following the death of a man who attended the Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach on July 26. The incident occurred when the individual, identified as David Granado Jr., suffered a reported brain injury while at the concert. He was taken to a hospital where he died several days later.

The family of Granado established a GoFundMe campaign, disclosing that he attended the popular punk festival with his girlfriend, brother, and friends. The family is attempting to piece together the events leading up to his hospitalization.

The Long Beach Police Department reported that an initial investigation did not reveal any foul play, but further investigations are continuing. Both the Vans Warped Tour representatives and the Los Angeles County medical examiner did not immediately respond to requests for comments.

“On July 29, 2026, the Long Beach Police Department was contacted regarding an individual at a local hospital in critical condition,” stated the police department. “It was determined the subject had been attending the Vans Warped Tour event in Long Beach and was transported to the hospital by a private medical company. The preliminary investigation did not indicate any signs of foul play. On July 31, 2026, detectives were made aware that the individual had passed away.”

The county medical examiner will determine the official cause of death. Police are investigating to ascertain whether any criminal actions occurred.

The Warped Tour, an iconic event in the punk, ska, and rock music scene, returned last year for its 30th anniversary. Future tour dates include Montreal, Mexico City, Orlando, and additional shows in Washington, D.C., and Long Beach next year.
