HelloFresh Faces Criticism Over Pride Month Post

2 weeks ago 0

HelloFresh is under fire following a controversial social media post for Pride Month. The post, which included a sexual joke, has sparked debate among users. Critics accuse the company of pushing explicit content under the guise of corporate support for LGBTQ+ events.

In the Instagram post, HelloFresh wrote, “We know eating isn’t always a top priority this month. We respect that. But for those of you who are … prepping … we have an extensive lineup of high-fiber recipes available. Happy Pride.” This sparked reactions ranging from support for its humor to accusations of inappropriate content.

Some commenters reacted positively. One user described the post as “Unhinged” with laughing emojis, while another asked for a Pride Month discount code, suggesting “BOTTOMSUP.” HelloFresh responded, offering the discount code. Others praised the brand’s marketing ingenuity.

Comedian Seth Lowery commented, “Fiber is such a mystery, bc it helps people get their gut in order and also helps people get their guts rearranged.”

The backlash comes amid concerns highlighted by the Human Rights Campaign, showing a 65% drop in Fortune 500 companies submitting diversity, equity, and inclusion policies for review.

Users on X voiced mixed opinions. One commented on the impact of rising grocery prices, while another criticized the explicit nature of the post. Wade Miller from the Center for Renewing America also shared his disappointment and unsubscribed from HelloFresh.

A user identified as Ani O’Brien expressed fatigue over corporate Pride promotions, critiquing the approach taken by HelloFresh.

Fox News Digital reached out to HelloFresh for a response, but it was unavailable at the time of reporting.
