Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested in connection with a suspected kidnapping and robbery occurring in February, according to the Tampa Police Department.
Authorities had previously detained six individuals accused of participating in what they described as a ‘targeted armed robbery’ on February 4. Arnold surrendered himself and was taken into custody at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County. He faces charges of four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery.
An NFL spokesperson commented, ‘We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club.’ The Detroit Lions have not yet responded to requests for comment.
Investigators reported that Arnold rented an Airbnb in Largo, Florida, where he was residing with several co-defendants: Arianna Del Valle, Jasmine Randazzo, Lyndell Hudson II, Christion Williams, Boakai Hilton Jr., and Freddie Hughes. Other individuals were present at the location as well.
The accused reportedly assaulted three male victims, all in their late teens, by battering, holding them at gunpoint, and pistol-whipping them before robbing and forcing them out of a residence in Tampa.
Investigators said that personal items belonging to Arnold and others were stolen from the Airbnb on February 1, prompting Arnold to suspect two of the victims, although Tampa police later confirmed their innocence.
Arnold, Hilton, Hughes, and another individual filed a report of more than $250,000 in missing property to the Largo Police on February 3.
Later that day, Arnold and Hilton allegedly orchestrated contact with one of the victims via Del Valle and Randazzo, who lured him to an apartment. Once the victims arrived on February 4, Williams and Hudson, reportedly hiding in a closet, assaulted them after holding them at gunpoint.
Del Valle allegedly streamed the incident to others, including Arnold, Hilton, and Hughes, as they traveled to the site. Evidence from a group chat indicated that Arnold and Hilton directed the events during the assault.
According to police, Arnold directed the group inside the apartment upon their arrival, and Hughes, Hudson, and Williams took personal property from the victims. The victims were later forced into a vehicle and left the scene, only to report the crime to authorities and identify the suspects.
Investigators believe Arnold was the primary planner behind the operation, based on the collected evidence.
Arnold was drafted by the Detroit Lions with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He recorded his first career interception during the past season but was limited to eight games due to a shoulder injury requiring surgery. In his rookie season, Arnold played in 16 games, achieving 10 passes defended and 60 tackles.
