Anthony Crupi from Sportico highlighted, ‘The hydration breaks alone will ensure that FOX will walk away with a tidy profit—especially since the cost of entry ($485 million) was so low.’ This pricing stemmed from FIFA’s choice to conduct the 2022 event in Qatar during cooler months due to harsh summer temperatures via shifting the schedule.

Fox gained around 260 extra seconds of ad time per match, generating nearly $200 million in additional sales during the group stage, potentially reaching a total of $450 million throughout the tournament. The World Cup’s final stages entice peak audience attention with eight top-tier teams remaining including Argentina, Belgium, and England.
