The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of Kenan “Ken” Urker, the partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard. Urker was discovered deceased at his Louisiana home on Thursday after a welfare check was requested by family members.

According to an incident report, Anita Blanchard went to the 34-year-old’s home with her husband, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s half-brother. They spotted Urker unconscious through a window. A man with them entered through a window and found Urker, lifeless and cold.

Investigators found syringes, a spoon with a brown powdery substance in the bathroom, and a handgun with shot glasses and a syringe on the nightstand. Urker appeared to have been there for some time.

Reports indicate Urker attended church with Anita Blanchard and her husband the previous night around 8:45 p.m. He reportedly expressed feelings of depression and upset. A TikTok live video streamed around 11:00 p.m. depicted Urker driving without speaking.

Urker had over 36,000 followers on TikTok. After he missed work, Anita Blanchard and his employer checked on him, leading to the discovery of his death. The sheriff’s office stated the investigation is ongoing but found no signs of foul play. Urker’s death coincided with his 34th birthday. Any major updates would prompt a new statement from the sheriff’s office.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in 2016 for her role in her mother’s fatal stabbing. Her story inspired the TV series “The Act”. She was released on parole in December 2023. She and Urker were engaged in 2018 but separated later. They reunited after her first marriage and had a daughter, Aurora, on December 28, 2024.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, in a statement, suggested Urker may have died from a drug overdose, unsure if intentional. On Instagram, Blanchard shared a post mourning Urker, saying, “You will always be my greatest love story.” She highlighted his struggle with cyberbullying, which affected him deeply, emphasizing the human impact behind screens and comments.

Gypsy Rose vowed to ensure her daughter, Aurora, understands her father’s love and character beyond internet perceptions. The Instagram post received nearly 100,000 likes, shared among her one million followers.
