The Dallas Cowboys find themselves in a favorable situation this season with key offensive players remaining healthy, especially quarterback Dak Prescott. They are set to face a Philadelphia Eagles team dealing with numerous injuries on “Monday Night Football.” As both teams aim for momentum, Prescott acknowledges the challenge of playing in a hostile environment known for its passionate fans.
“It’s one of the few opportunities that you get, that you feel like you’re truly on the road. You know you’re hated. It’s you guys and those guys on the sideline against the world; it feels like, and that’s what football’s supposed to be when you go on the road and you go to someone else’s house,” Prescott explained to reporters.
Prescott relishes the atmosphere, saying there is no better feeling than silencing the opposing crowd. The Cowboys have a 72-58 lead in their all-time meetings with the Eagles according to StatMuse. Recently, Philadelphia has achieved more, including several playoff runs and a 2025 Super Bowl victory.
Last season, both teams won their home games against each other. Philadelphia will rely on backup quarterback Tanner McKee due to Jalen Hurts’ absence from deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli. ESPN reports receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are also injured, though star running back Saquon Barkley might return. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network noted Barkley appeared to be on track to play.
Garafolo also indicated positive news for Eagles guard Landon Dickerson’s participation in the game, and rookie tight end Eli Stowers could debut if activated from injury reserve. The matchup features two teams seeking a win after losing streaks. Dallas is on a two-game skid, and Philadelphia has lost four straight.
Currently, both teams are 2-4, and chasing the division-leading New York Giants, who stand at 4-2-1. The Cowboys are favored going into this Philadelphia showdown despite past struggles as favorites. The “Monday Night Football” game is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26, with a kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET.
