Coyotes Caught on Camera at Southern California Cabin

39 minutes ago 0

The mystery of nighttime barking from a couple’s dog at their Southern California cabin has been unraveled thanks to surveillance footage capturing coyotes outside their cabin door in the San Bernardino Mountains.

David and Annette Simpson, who own the cabin, set up cameras to discover what was causing their dog to bark at odd hours. The recorded footage showcased a trio of coyotes right at their front steps, engaging in aggressive behavior for around 40 minutes early Sunday morning.

The couple was not present during the encounter, but the footage did not go unnoticed. They shared the exciting discovery on social media, bringing local attention to the wildlife activity. Annette explained to KTLA, “We wonder why our dog barks in the middle of the night, and now we know.”

This encounter marked a new experience for the Simpsons, who have previously seen other wildlife but never a coyote scuffle at their doorstep. Annette expressed no concern about the proximity of the coyotes, saying, “I think it’s pretty cool. We really enjoy watching the wildlife and just so close.” Still, she remains cautious about her pets, reconsidering where she lets her cats roam.
