Concerns Rise in Germany Over Low-Cost Drone Threats

1 hour ago 0

Germany is increasingly concerned about the threat of low-cost drone attacks. A preliminary assessment by a Western official and a U.S. source suggests that the drone likely originated from Russia, as reported by NBC News.

On August 5, a forensic technician was seen working with a bomb-disposal robot at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Schkeuditz, Germany. This occurred after an attempted exploding drone attack. The airport houses Ukrainian cargo planes, which highlights the strategic targets that low-cost drones may aim for.

According to officials, this incident represents a new level of danger. Low-cost drones pose a significant challenge; they can be difficult to defend against, raising serious security concerns for facilities across the region.
