Concerns Raised Over Security at Seattle Food Festival Before Shooting

A day before a tragic shooting at a Seattle food festival, concerns about security measures had been raised by a content creator. This shooting resulted in three fatalities and four injuries.

The incident took place around 6 p.m. on Sunday during the Bite of Seattle, an annual event that attracts hundreds of food and retail vendors and performers. Police are investigating the event and have advised the public to avoid the area near downtown. Authorities have detained one suspect and are actively searching for another. Assistant Seattle Police Chief Tyrone Davis mentioned that the suspects appeared to be shooting at one another.

In a TikTok video posted on Saturday, a content creator known as “leebotracks” filmed himself walking around the festival. He expressed concern about security, stating that festival attendees could enter without any checks, like pat downs or bag searches.

“Make it happen. Keep the people safe. You should not be able to just walk up into this festival with all these people, with all these vendors, with no security,” he urged the organizers.

After the shooting, the creator addressed it in another video posted late Sunday night. He emphasized his earlier warnings about security, mentioning the criticism he faced in the comments of previous videos.

The specific security measures from this year’s festival remain unclear. Last year, organizers claimed a strong security record following a vendor complaint about a break-in. This situation is still unfolding, and further updates are expected.
