He warns of a “vicious cycle” in American politics that might result in “communists in double digits” serving in Congress. Mike Gonzalez, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, perceives the socialist “threat” as real.

Gonzalez describes this trend as a “takeover” of the Democratic Party. He claims that “body snatchers” are infiltrating, leaving the party defenseless. Gonzalez forecasts a significant presence of communists in the House of Representatives.

“We’re going to get communists in double digits in the House,” Gonzalez predicts.

Recent elections demonstrate this shift. New York saw the election of a socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani. His endorsed socialist congressional candidates, Brad Lander, Claire Valdez, and Darializa Avila Chevalier, defeated long-established Democrats. Seattle also elected a socialist mayor, Katie Wilson. In Colorado, Melat Kiros prevailed against Rep. Diana DeGette, revealing socialists’ ability to displace entrenched party figures.

Gonzalez cites the absence of distinction between socialism and communism according to Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, asserting that these politicians are essentially communists.

“These people are communists,” Gonzalez states.

Factors Contributing to Success

Several factors contribute to socialist candidates’ success. Issues like American culture assimilation breakdown, increased U.S. animosity, and White guilt combined with affordability issues in cities like New York are significant.

Gonzalez remarks on the influence of White votes, explaining: “A lot of these votes are White votes, White young kids from the suburbs feeling guilty about various things.” Many attended expensive Ivy League schools and struggle financially in New York City.

Socialist promises such as free tuition and public-run services attract these voters. Gonzalez warns that this cycle might lead to communism if not addressed.
