Civilian Detained After Violent Incident at MacDill Air Force Base

A civilian was detained outside MacDill Air Force Base, located in Tampa, Florida, following a violent incident with security personnel. Reports from the 6th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs Office indicated that the person “violently engaged” with base security staff.

The breach occurred around 1 p.m., when the civilian managed to cross the base’s perimeter, leading to a violent exchange with security officers. Both the civilian and an officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the confrontation, as reported by FOX 13 and WTSP-TV.

In response to the incident, MacDill Air Force Base announced on Facebook at approximately 2:30 p.m. that the Dale Mabry Gate was closed to all traffic. The base advised people to avoid the gate area and plan accordingly until further notice.
