A man in California, identified as Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce, faces serious charges following violent threats made to a judge involved in a disappearance case. Dumarce, 27, allegedly targeted Jackson County Chancery Court Judge Ashlee Cole through social media.
Disappearance of Nolan Wells
Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old, vanished on July 4 during a boating trip with friends to Horn Island, Mississippi. After an intense two-day search, the National Parks Service located his remains on the island’s northwestern edge on July 6.
Threats Against Judge Cole
The threats emerged due to Judge Ashlee Cole’s connection to the case. She is the mother of Warren Hudson, a friend who was with Wells during the trip. Despite the association, Hudson has no accusations of wrongdoing related to Wells’ disappearance.
Dumarce has been charged with the interstate transmission of a threatening communication. Federal court documents reveal that he sent threats via Facebook Messenger, including one about a bomb intended for Judge Cole’s office. He also made calls to the Jackson County Chancery Court late at night.
“There will be a package coming to your guys office in the next few days,” Dumarce reportedly warned. “It’s gonna blow you away when you see it. Probably best to have the boys there to see as well.”
Investigation and Legal Action
Authorities tracked Dumarce using the email linked to his social media account. If found guilty, he could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Unresolved Questions in the Disappearance
An independent autopsy by Dr. Roger Mitchell found a “red discoloration” on Wells’ head. However, the cause or manner of death remains undetermined, awaiting more investigation. Official results have yet to be released, leaving many questions unanswered about Wells’ death.
Nolan Wells, who aspired to excel as a wide receiver at Southwest Mississippi Community College, hoped to achieve a Division I level career. The disappearance has drawn significant attention as friends, family, and authorities seek clarity and justice.
The FBI provided no comment on these developments.
