Allen Robinson has announced his retirement from professional football, concluding an NFL career that spanned 11 years. Robinson’s decision comes after a season without a team signing him. He shared the news on Instagram, marking the occasion on his 33rd birthday.
In his retirement message, Robinson expressed gratitude for his time in the league. “Reflecting on another year of life, I feel grateful,” he wrote. “This birthday marks not another year alone, but a new chapter. Football gave me more than I ever imagined. It challenged me, shaped me, and humbled me.”
“I came, I saw, I conquered and leave with gratitude. The memories, relationships, victories, and lessons will stay with me forever. Thank you for every moment, cheer, lesson, and opportunity.”
Robinson’s career statistics include 565 catches, 7,058 yards, and 43 touchdowns. His standout season was in 2015 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, recording 80 receptions, 1,400 yards, and 14 touchdowns. He achieved two additional 1,000-yard seasons with the Chicago Bears.
In 2019, Robinson logged 98 catches for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2020, he recorded 102 catches, 1,250 yards, and six touchdowns. Both seasons were worthy of Pro Bowl consideration. Unfortunately, a season-ending foot injury with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 halted his progress.
Robinson participated in one Pro Bowl and once led the league in touchdown catches. Despite his career challenges, Robinson leaves the game with a deep appreciation for everything he experienced.
