Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine, have announced their decision to separate after 20 years of marriage. In a joint Instagram post shared on Saturday, the couple expressed their intention to continue their relationship in a new form.
We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world,” they wrote. “Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us or the love and respect we will always share.
The couple emphasized their commitment to co-parenting, stating, “We plan on moving forward with friendship, grace, and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be.” They requested privacy as they navigate this new chapter for the sake of their three sons, Calem, Edan, and Amory.
According to court documents reported by TMZ, Ritchson filed for divorce in December but they reconciled in March before announcing their separation in September. The two, who first met as teenagers, reconnected in college and married in May 2006.
Ritchson’s career has seen significant milestones. His early notable role was on the TV show “Smallville.” He also appeared in “Blue Mountain State,” “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and “Titans.” In 2022, he starred as Jack Reacher on Amazon Prime’s “Reacher,” a role he described as “family TV” despite its adult themes.
