The Washington Wizards’ new talent, AJ Dybantsa, took center stage on Wednesday, making his much-awaited NBA debut against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Fans have eagerly anticipated this moment, as he is the first No. 1 overall draft pick for the team since John Wall in 2010.
Starting the game assertively, Dybantsa immediately demonstrated his skillset by driving to the basket on the first possession. This move resulted in a trip to the free throw line, reminiscent of his impressive performance at BYU where he led his college peers in free throw attempts. He confidently sank both shots, marking the first points of his professional basketball career.
The young player impressed with a total of 19 points in the game, although the Wizards ultimately lost to a team led by the seasoned James Harden. Despite the loss, Dybantsa’s performance offers hope and excitement for the Wizards’ future prospects.
