President Donald Trump has proposed organizing a large MAGA rally to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary. This idea comes after several artists withdrew from a planned summer concert. In a detailed Truth Social post, Trump suggested dissolving the Great American State Fair’s Freedom 250 concert series. He also criticized a federal judge ruling that his name be removed from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, whose music is boring, and who only complain,” Trump wrote.
Trump criticized the judge, calling them “Highly Conflicted” and “Crooked.” He declared he had canceled his involvement with the Kennedy Center because of the ruling.
The Great American State Fair is a national celebration set on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., from June 25 through July 10, 2026, as part of America 250. Recently, several artists, including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MC, Morris Day and The Time, and C+C Music Factory, withdrew from performing.
In a separate post, Trump suggested he might replace the musical acts with a major speech. He hinted at bringing “the Number One Attraction,” referring to himself, in place of the “Third Rate ‘Artists.'” Trump expressed a willingness to deliver a speech and hold a rally on June 24 to initiate the celebration.
Trump stated his preference for surrounding himself with “Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN.” Freedom 250 later confirmed that Trump would indeed give a speech at the opening of the Great American State Fair.
Danielle Alvarez, a spokeswoman for Freedom 250, expressed enthusiasm for Trump’s involvement and announced he would officially start the America 250 celebrations on June 24.
