Rod Stewart, the iconic rock musician, canceled two planned concerts in Las Vegas, citing health concerns. Stewart, aged 81, was scheduled to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30. The cancellations occurred just hours before the first show was set to begin.
In a statement to Las Vegas Review, a representative for Stewart revealed that the decision followed medical advice. Stewart’s performances were canceled from May 29 to 30, but shows are expected to resume on June 2.
Stewart personally addressed his fans, stating, “I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.”
Fans expressed disappointment on social media, noting the late notification regarding the show’s cancellation, some receiving the news less than two hours before the scheduled start time.
Despite the recent health issue, Stewart maintains his commitment to music. He announced a farewell tour for 2024 but clarified he does not intend to retire completely, highlighting that he will refrain from large-scale world tours but will continue performing.
Stewart, who maintains an active lifestyle, noted, “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the age of 79.” He shared with AARP that he has always stayed physically active, playing soccer and involving a personal trainer over the years.
Stewart explained his fitness routine, which includes swimming and running, aiming to improve his sprint time through dedicated training.
