As the Senate reconvenes after the Memorial Day recess, a range of proposals is on the table. Republican senators, however, are holding back, waiting for input from the Trump administration.
One major issue causing tension among senators is President Donald Trump’s proposed $1.8 billion payout fund. The fund intends to compensate individuals who claim they were wrongfully targeted by the Justice Department.
According to the Wall Street Journal, over a dozen Republican senators have expressed their concerns privately. They have urged the White House to reconsider the existence of this fund.
