There, he reassured supporters of his dedication to the race, stating that he is “running through the tape.” His campaign posts on social media included tags like “stillwithCornyn.” This was seen as necessary after Trump’s endorsement of Paxton, which was a significant development in the race.
The support for Paxton added difficulty to an already challenging campaign for Cornyn. His supporters are now confronting the reality that the senator, who has been valued for his consistent service over four decades, could be defeated.
