According to recent reports from Switzerland, four-time Formula 1 champion Alain Prost was injured during a home invasion by a group of masked men. The incident took place at Prost’s residence in Nyon, located about 25 kilometers north of Geneva, as reported by Swiss outlet Blick.

Swiss police have confirmed a robbery occurred targeting a family, though they have not officially named the victims. However, Blick has identified Prost as being among them.

Several masked individuals entered the house. Once inside, they threatened the occupants and slightly injured one family member in the head, under circumstances that are still being investigated, police stated. The perpetrators then forced another family member to open a safe before fleeing, the statement added.

Both Swiss and French law enforcement agencies are actively searching for the suspects.

Alain Prost’s Storied Career

Prost, a revered figure in Formula 1 racing, competed from 1980 to 1993. During this time, he drove for top teams such as McLaren, Renault, Ferrari, and Williams. His career is highlighted by four World Drivers’ Championships won in 1985, 1986, 1989, and 1993. This achievement places him alongside Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, who also have four championships each. They trail behind Juan Manuel Fangio, with five, and Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher, each with seven championships.

Prost’s most notable period involved intense title battles with his McLaren teammate, Ayrton Senna, during the late 1980s. The rivalry with Senna is among the most famous in the sport’s history.

After retiring, Prost transitioned to roles beyond racing. He worked in television, founded the Prost Grand Prix team, and served as an advisor for the Alpine Formula 1 team until 2022.
