The Pentagon has released new files on unidentified flying objects (U.F.O.s), described as ‘new, never-before-seen.’ This initiative is part of their ongoing commitment to transparency, following recent actions of excluding reporters from events earlier this year.
A Pentagon spokesperson remarked, ‘No other president or administration in history has pursued this level of transparency regarding unidentified anomalous phenomena (U.A.P.), formerly known as U.F.O.s.’
The files are housed at war.gov/ufo.
The new releases include murky images with undefined shapes. An example shows a cluster of dots; another presents strangely shaped objects.
In 2017, The New York Times revealed a secret, classified Pentagon program initiated in 2007. It had investigated reports from service members about encounters with seemingly extraterrestrial objects. Since then, lawmakers have urged the government to make this information public.
