Pentagon Releases Files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena

1 day ago 0

The Pentagon has begun releasing previously unreleased files related to what are now termed Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). This information, held by the government for decades, has intrigued many Americans curious about extraterrestrial life. The release began nearly a month after former President Donald Trump hinted at the documents, promising “very interesting” content from the Department of Defense.

The first batch of UAP files are now available on a government site, https://www.war.gov/UFO/. Pentagon Public Affairs confirmed that additional files will be added regularly. According to a press release, “The American people can now access the federal government’s declassified UAP files instantly.” This collection includes the latest videos, photos, and original documents, available without requiring clearance.

Efforts to disclose these files have been ongoing, driven by both lawmakers and enthusiasts. The release aligns with Trump’s commitment to transparency, contrasting with previous administrations that tried to withhold such information.

The press release noted, “While all files have been reviewed for security, many have not been analyzed for resolving any anomalies.” Although Trump did not immediately comment on the release, he had earlier instructed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to review documents concerning extraterrestrial life.

The initiative, known as PURSUE (Presidential Unsealings and Reporting System for UAP Encounters), follows a model similar to the Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein Files release. This site is still in progress and faced initial technical difficulties. The Epstein release faced criticism for redundant and heavily redacted documents, as well as accidental disclosures.
