Dan Lanning, head coach of the Oregon Ducks, is gathering information about the arrest of wide receiver Evan Stewart. Lanning stated he would take ‘appropriate action’ once all details are confirmed. ‘There will be an appropriate action taken. Still gathering some details with what that situation looks like,’ Lanning mentioned.

Lanning emphasized that the matter would be resolved within the team. ‘But that would be handled internally. I’m not gonna respond to any other questions about that. We’re gonna handle that with our guys,’ he added.

Stewart was arrested on Sunday morning on charges of driving under the influence, shortly after the Ducks’ victory over Nebraska. He was detained at Springfield Municipal Jail, as police records show.

According to Lanning, the arrest overshadowed the team’s win. Stewart, not present in the game against Nebraska due to an undisclosed injury, has so far caught 27 passes for 352 yards and scored four touchdowns this season. He missed the previous season recovering from a right patellar tendon tear.

“There was an incident this weekend that didn’t match our standard here in our program,” Lanning remarked.

In the upcoming games, Oregon faces Illinois in a Big Ten matchup, with quarterback Dante Moore’s status still in question due to a concussion. Moore was out in the last two games but practiced before facing UCLA. Brock Thoman and Dylan Raiola took charge in games against UCLA and Nebraska.
