Country Stars and Their Hunting Adventures

Several country music stars are indulging in hunting this season. Notable names include Luke Combs, Riley Green, Parker McCollum, and Sam Barber. Chris Janson recently shared a story about an elk-hunting trip in Colorado with OutKick OutDoors.

Koe Wetzel joins the ranks with an achievement of his own. He displayed a large bull elk on Instagram, which he successfully hunted. The elk’s significant antlers were evident, with Koe grinning widely, showing satisfaction with his hunt. His Instagram post read: ‘Oklahoma Breakdown.’

Unclear if Koe was revealing the location of his hunt or just happened to be listening to a very good song by Stoney LaRue.

Regardless, the animal was indeed impressive. The post followed a prior one where Wetzel posted music-related photos, captioned, ‘Posted from a remote area hunting elk.’

Wetzel’s passion for hunting comes as no surprise to those who know him. In a podcast interview on ‘Country Outdoors,’ he stated that hunting season dictates his schedule. He said, ‘October to February don’t call me cause you’re probably not gonna get a nice response.’

Wetzel began hunting in his childhood in East Texas, developing a love for the outdoors long before his music career. In a 2024 Hook & Barrel interview, he recounted getting his first bow at eight. He continues to practice archery year-round, even taking his bows on music tours.

This elk is not Wetzel’s first. Previously, he bagged a bull elk in New Mexico with a rifle shot over 540 yards. During a 2025 ‘Country Outdoors’ appearance, he shared about another elk measuring over 380 inches.

His recent Instagram post lacks specific details regarding this hunt’s score. Given his stance during this season, reaching out for more information might not be favorable.
