High Tensions Following Rams Loss to Bills on Monday Night Football

1 day ago 0

The emotions were intense for the Los Angeles Rams after a missed field goal attempt resulted in the Buffalo Bills securing an additional offensive possession during overtime. They capitalized on this opportunity by making their own field goal, claiming a 37-34 victory in Week 5’s “Monday Night Football.” After the game, Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson and Bills edge Bradley Chubb appeared to have exchanged words. While the exact dialogue between them remains uncertain, video footage seems to capture Jackson throwing a punch at Chubb. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson is projected to face a two-game suspension due to the altercation.

“Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson is expected to be suspended two games for punching Bills outside linebacker Bradley Chubb during Monday night’s postgame gathering, per sources,” Schefter posted on X. “But the NFL has not yet notified the team nor the NFLPA.”

The Rams, currently holding a 2-3 record, are scheduled to compete against the Arizona Cardinals and the Las Vegas Raiders over the upcoming two weeks. After the incident, Chubb expressed that he was ready to move forward to Week 6, dismissing the emotional aftermath of the game.

Chubb stated, “Like I said, it was an emotional game. Tempers got flared. But it is what it is. We flushed it and we’re onto next week… Somebody swung, but hey, that’s not on me to tell who. There’s cameras out there. I just know, you know what I’m saying, I’m just ready for next week.”

Chubb made two tackles during Monday night’s game. The Rams face a challenging start to their season, marked by three losses in their first five games. The team’s frustration was not limited to Jackson alone. Head coach Sean McVay indicated that the team would strive to implement changes in the following days.

To address recent performance issues, Los Angeles decided to release kicker Harrison Mevis on Tuesday. Mevis missed one field goal attempt and had another blocked during overtime. The Rams are working to regroup as they approach their next matchup.
