Migrant Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos has been arrested for the fatal stabbing of Carmen Lizet Puch on a hiking trail in Great Falls, Virginia. This incident has brought attention to the suspect’s previous release by the Biden administration. Former Secret Service agent Charles Marino has discussed the need for accountability on ‘Fox & Friends First’.
In a separate case, two suspects with extensive criminal records are wanted for the attempted murder of off-duty NYPD Detective Jose Mercedes in a robbery. Both Dangelo Rafael Jean Caraballo and Sneider Mejia Bautista are Dominican citizens living illegally in the U.S., according to federal authorities.
The attack occurred as the suspects tried to steal Mercedes’ gold chain. In the struggle, they stabbed and slashed the detective multiple times. Despite his injuries, Mercedes pursued them before he collapsed. He has since been released from the hospital.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has criticized current immigration policies, labeling them as ‘America Last’. Secretary Markwayne Mullin called for cooperation from New York authorities to apprehend these criminals. The DHS reports both suspects entered the U.S. unlawfully through Arizona and were released by the Biden administration.
The two suspects have significant criminal records. Caraballo has faced charges for reckless endangerment, driving violations, weapon possession, and more. After a 2024 arrest, local authorities released him before ICE could intervene. Bautista’s criminal history includes theft and weapon charges. In 2025, ICE’s request to detain him was declined due to New York City’s policies.
