FBI Director Kash Patel and country music singer Alexis Wilkins have announced their engagement. The couple shared the news with their followers on social media, capturing the attention of supporters and political observers.
Wilkins posted a black-and-white photo on X, featuring the couple smiling while she displayed a diamond ring. Accompanying the picture, she humorously wrote, “Went and got the law involved,” followed by ring and heart emojis. Patel shared the announcement, adding his own emojis.
The couple’s relationship has been under public scrutiny since Patel assumed the role of FBI director in 2025. Patel is 46, and Wilkins is 27. They have been together for over three years after meeting at a party hosted by country singer John Rich.
Throughout Patel’s career, their relationship has appeared in the media. Last year, Patel dismissed reports questioning his travel arrangements, denying claims he used government aircraft to attend Wilkins’ concerts. He labeled the allegations “fake news” and defended Wilkins from what he called baseless attacks.
Wilkins has navigated her own legal challenges. In June, she filed a defamation lawsuit against media company Versant and two journalists. She claims their reporting falsely portrayed her conduct at a social event. According to the lawsuit, the coverage damaged her reputation. The defendants moved to dismiss the case, which is ongoing.
