Clemson Monitors Weather Ahead of Miami Game

1 day ago 0

The Clemson Tigers are staying alert due to a weather advisory from the National Weather Service as they prepare to face No. 4 Miami on Saturday night. This season, Clemson’s games have repeatedly been affected by inclement weather.

The Tigers experienced delays in their first three games. The season opener against LSU saw a delay of nearly two hours before Clemson fell to Lane Kiffin’s team, 51-10, in Baton Rouge. In Week 2, another near two-hour delay occurred before they secured a 22-7 victory over Georgia Southern.

Week 3 featured a stopping of play in the fourth quarter because of a lightning delay. Clemson overcame this and clinched a comeback win against North Carolina with a 28-20 score.

Week 4 offered a reprieve from weather issues, allowing Clemson to defeat California 24-10 in Berkeley, improving their season record to 3-1. Facing their first ranked opponent since LSU, Clemson might have weather concerns again in the game that Dabo Swinney aims to win convincingly.

Clemson is monitoring potential heavy rain and thunderstorms, according to Chapel Fowler of The State Newspaper. There are no alterations to the schedule so far.

‘Per Clemson: The school is “monitoring potential inclement weather” for Saturday’s game vs. No. 4 Miami, as heavy rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast,’ Fowler posted. ‘There are NO changes to kickoff time as of now (still 7:30 p.m. Saturday), but if updates occur, they’ll be announced.’

The delay impacted Clemson adversely in Week 1. However, North Carolina faltered after the lightning delay in Week 3, only managing a field goal after a prolonged drive. As both Miami and Clemson have faced rainy conditions before, neither team should have a weather advantage on Saturday night.
