46 minutes ago 0

Wynonna Judd has opened up about her life, choosing to share even the challenging parts that might be hard for her family. Recently, Wynonna disclosed that she and her sister, Ashley Judd, are not speaking. They are focusing on their individual lives and have decided to take a break from each other.

Sharing insights with People, Wynonna expressed, “We’re taking a break, which all families can relate to. She’s doing her thing, and I’m doing mine.” This revelation came as Wynonna discussed her newest album, “The Hard Truth,” set for release on October 2. The album delves into her complex relationship with her late mother, Naomi Judd, revealing long-held family secrets and her journey through emotions like anger and forgiveness.

She explained, “I feel like this is the most honest and vulnerable I’ve ever been. It’s there for everyone to hear. So there are some days I think, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?’ And then other days I think, ‘There comes a point in your life when you are ready to tell your testimony.'” Wynonna collaborated with her husband, Cactus Moser, on the album, who supported her in being open about her experiences.

Wynonna Judd shared, “My mother had an illness, she had a disease. I kept the secret, and I was devastated by that.”

Wynonna gained fame alongside her mother in the duo The Judds. From 1984 to 1991, they achieved remarkable success, including 20 Top 10 country hits, 14 No. 1 singles, and various awards such as five Grammy Awards and numerous CMA and ACM awards. Despite their professional success, Wynonna described their relationship as both deeply loving and tumultuous.

Reflecting on their bond, she said, “There was a tremendous amount of love there; a lot of drama but a lot of love as well. It was definitely a paradox.” Naomi Judd battled severe depression for years, which ultimately led to her death by suicide in April 2022 at the age of 76. Wynonna revealed she kept this secret, and the burden was heavy.

Despite Naomi’s passing, Wynonna insists that her mother’s death wasn’t the catalyst for telling her story publicly. She emphasized, “I think I would’ve been more determined. It’s my story, and it’s my feelings.” Wynonna acknowledged that sharing these feelings might have been painful for her mother, stating, “I think it would be very painful for her. Very painful. But I also know that she knows me, that I’m so honest and so up-front.”
