Despite being a lawful permanent resident, Miller lacked citizenship, which barred her from participating in federal elections, according to federal prosecutors.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) launched a probe into Miller’s actions after receiving reports of potential illegal voter registration in Lehigh County. Miller registered online on October 9, 2024, and cast her vote on November 5, 2024. Following an in-depth inquiry, FBI and HSI agents interviewed Miller at her residence in July 2025.

Efforts to Secure Election Integrity

Markwayne Mullin, Secretary of Homeland Security, underscored the importance of upholding election integrity. He emphasized that American elections are reserved for U.S. citizens. Miller’s case reflects a larger initiative by the Justice Department to tackle election crimes across the nation.
