Patrick Clancy Shares Insights into Tragic Family Loss

In a recent interview with CBS News’ Ross Douthat on 60 Minutes, Patrick Clancy discussed the profound impact of losing his three children. His ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, is accused of their deaths.

During the interview, Patrick revealed Lindsay’s description of the incident. She reportedly recalled the killings as if they were a dream, a surreal memory rather than reality. She has not sought Patrick’s forgiveness, although he has offered it freely, expressing that forgiving her helped him cope with the grief.

Lindsay Clancy, once a labor and delivery nurse, faced charges for the deaths of Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. The tragic occurrence happened in their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Lindsay pleaded not guilty, with her lawyer attributing her actions to postpartum psychosis, arguing she was not responsible due to her mental state.

The jury, unable to reach a consensus after seven days of deliberation, led to Judge William Sullivan declaring a mistrial in early September.

Patrick also spoke openly about his mental health struggles following the tragedy. He admitted to having suicidal thoughts, noting that there was a period when he was indifferent about reaching his 35th birthday.

“I think when it comes to forgiveness, I also felt that if I didn’t get there, I would be eaten up inside forever,” Patrick shared.
