Former aides to President Obama, who now host the “Pod Save America” podcast, faced criticism after making remarks about President Donald Trump potentially dying from natural causes. During a podcast episode, Jon Favreau, a co-host and former Obama speechwriter, read an audience question asking if anyone could stop Trump. He noted the tone of the inquiries they receive.

Tommy Vietor, also a former Obama aide, commented that “Father Time” would eventually catch Trump. Vietor joked about heart disease possibly affecting the president. Jon Lovett, another co-host and previous Obama speechwriter, mentioned that the hardening of veins affects everyone eventually.

The conversation ended with Favreau suggesting that by 2027, they might not be discussing this topic. Dan Pfeiffer, a former Obama communications director, jokingly asked if they would need to find real jobs at that point.
