Minneapolis Shooting Suspect Faces Eviction Amidst Violent Incidents

Johnson had been a resident at the Shoreline Plaza complex, signing a lease in March 2025. He received an eviction notice on June 16, citing six specific incidents beginning in January, including an alleged assault in March.

Notably, on June 11, Johnson reportedly displayed a firearm openly to management staff and later boasted to residents about acquiring a new gun. The eviction notice further details that two days later, he exhibited his gun to pedestrians nearby. Additional warnings were issued, advising Johnson to adhere to Minnesota’s conceal and carry laws and cease displaying firearms on the premises.

Ignoring these directives, the complaint alleges, Johnson made threatening comments about gun use to a security officer on June 19, including brandishing his weapon. As of June 25, he continued to display his firearm publicly and threatened other residents.

Reports indicate Johnson attempted bribery to discover who had alerted law enforcement about his behavior. Sources reveal he had been evicted earlier on the day of the shooting and was due for a trial with a court date set for September 11.

As the aftermath unfolds, authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased victims. Among the six injured, three were police officers, two suffering gunshot wounds and requiring medical attention, with one undergoing surgery for stomach injuries. The others sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Additional complications arose as four officers experienced adverse reactions to an unknown airborne substance during their response. City officials commended the officers’ dedication as they faced these dangers.
