Enes Kanter Freedom Banned from Chicago Sky Games After Altercation

Enes Kanter Freedom, a former NBA player known for his outspoken views on transgender athletes in women’s sports, encountered a significant incident during a basketball game.

During a match between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever, held at Wintrust Arena, Freedom became involved in a verbal confrontation. He sat courtside, donning a shirt with the message, “WOMAN noun. adult human female.” This drew the attention of Natasha Cloud, a guard for the Chicago Sky, who approached him amid a third-quarter timeout, leading to the altercation.

Following this event, Michael Alter, the majority owner of the Chicago Sky, announced a ban on Freedom from attending future Sky games. This decision was in response to Freedom’s disruptive behavior. Alter emphasized the importance of adhering to game conduct rules, explaining that while a lifetime ban is currently in place, it may be revisited if Freedom shows compliance and non-threatening behavior at future events.

Alter also noted that discussions have not yet taken place with the league regarding Freedom’s attendance at other WNBA venues.
