Unusual Blue-Colored Frog Draws Crowd to Huntley Meadows Park

Nature enthusiasts have been drawn to Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria, Virginia, to observe a rare blue-hued tree frog. The frog has become quite an attraction for both locals and visitors.

On a warm morning shortly after sunrise, Mar Acevedo, a retired high school teacher, positioned himself on a trail with a view of the marshes. His goal was to once again encounter the unique green tree frog with an unusual blue tint. Acevedo had discovered this rare specimen about a week earlier in a small area of the expansive park near Telegraph Road.

Acevedo’s sighting has sparked significant interest among nature enthusiasts keen on catching a glimpse of the extraordinary amphibian. The frog’s presence in the park highlights the diverse wildlife inhabiting the area and reminds visitors of the wonders of nature.
