Former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom was escorted out of Wintrust Arena during the third quarter of the game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever. The confrontation began with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud, who called out Freedom during a timeout with the Fever leading 81-75. Both Freedom and Cloud engaged in a heated shouting match, leading to security intervening and escorting Freedom from the arena as boos erupted from the Chicago crowd.

Freedom was later cited on social media saying, “I just got kicked out of a WNBA game for supporting WOMEN!” and suggested that his presence was met with hostility due to women “hating on other women.”

Prior to the incident, Freedom had expressed criticism toward Cloud, offering her a ticket to countries like China, Russia, or Turkey. He implied these places would provide a firsthand experience of tyranny, contrasting with what he sees as superficial complaints. His attire for the day included a shirt displaying the definition of ‘woman,’ a statement Cloud did not appear to appreciate.

Following the game, Sky players Azura Stevens and Aicha Coulibaly addressed Freedom’s ejection briefly. Stevens referred to the situation as a “fan incident,” noting that security managed it effectively, and chose not to elaborate on Kanter Freedom’s role.

Enes Kanter Freedom was also involved in a prior confrontation outside the arena, with progressive fans challenging his stance. Security had to protect the former NBA center, highlighting the tension surrounding his presence.

The game concluded with the Indiana Fever’s victory over the Chicago Sky, scoring 113-90. Questions regarding whether Freedom will be allowed back into WNBA arenas remain unanswered. Meanwhile, Freedom continues to actively challenge league policies and remains unapologetic in his approach.
