Power Outage in Northwestern Indiana Leaves Thousands Without Electricity

1 hour ago 0

Over 70,000 residents in northwestern Indiana still remain without power more than a week after severe storms hit the region. The storms caused significant damage by uprooting trees, damaging power lines, and flooding many neighborhoods.

Local authorities are making efforts to restore electricity quickly. However, the pace of progress has left many residents frustrated. They feel not enough is being done to address the prolonged power outage.

Stephanie Sy, a correspondent for PBS News Hour, reports on the situation. With her extensive experience as a correspondent and anchor for outlets such as ABC News, Al Jazeera America, and CNN International, Sy provides insights into the region’s ongoing challenges. Before joining News Hour, she was a part of Yahoo News, where she covered major events like the 2018 Midterm Elections and reported from Donald Trump’s victory celebration on Election Day 2016.
