On Wednesday morning, a tragic shooting occurred on the West Side in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood. The event resulted in the deaths of two individuals, a 64-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, according to Chicago police.
The incident took place shortly before noon. A young man was standing in the 200 block of South Pulaski Road when an assailant approached him. The attacker pulled out a firearm and shot the man multiple times. Authorities transported the wounded victim to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Nearby, in the 300 block of South Pulaski Road, police found an unresponsive 64-year-old woman. She had a gunshot wound to her chest. The woman was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead as well.
Following the attack, the gunman fled the scene southbound in a black sedan on Pulaski Road. Detectives are actively investigating the case to find the perpetrator.
