An Ohio golfer feels “lucky and blessed” after being struck by lightning on a golf course. He and his friends got caught in a storm while playing last week. While recording their struggle to free a stuck golf cart, he was hit by lightning.
The video starts with him laughing as his friends try to move the golf cart up a grassy incline. Despite their efforts, the cart rolls backward before lightning dramatically ends the video.

The golfer made several mistakes. He stayed on the course during the storm and didn’t help with the cart. Worse, he stood under a tree holding an umbrella. Suddenly, a loud bang and a flash of light occur, ending the video.
Meteorologist Matt Devitt reported that the golfer was hit on the arm by lightning. He avoided severe injuries and is recovering from non-life-threatening wounds.
Struck on a Cincinnati course, the golfer told Devitt he was “unbelievably lucky.” Devitt advises, “When thunder roars, go indoors!” This incident teaches us to head indoors when hearing thunder, avoid trees, and help others when necessary.
Despite popular myths, being struck by lightning doesn’t give you superpowers. You won’t shoot lightning or move objects with your mind. You simply become someone who survived a lightning strike.
