Andrade El Idolo Ambushed at AEW Grand Slam Mexico

Andrade El Idolo experienced an unexpected ambush at All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Grand Slam Mexico following his advancement to the Casino Gauntlet match set for All In. MJF marked his return to AEW programming on Wednesday night, targeting Andrade shortly after he secured the No. 1 entry slot for the match. The aggressive encounter left Andrade bloodied, with MJF announcing his intentions to participate in a qualifying match, aiming to become the second entrant. The victor of the Casino Gauntlet match will have the opportunity to contend for the AEW World Championship.

Andrade, known for his performances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, showcased the consequences of the altercation on social media. On Sunday, he shared an image revealing a significant cut on his head, mentioning that this injury might sideline him for a few weeks.

“Hi everyone and especially Las Señoritas! I’ve just landed back in Miami, where I live, and I went straight to the DR. I hadn’t been feeling well since the Wednesday after the Grand Slam, but as a professional, I had two shows in Canada with MLP. I’ll keep you posted, but I have to be out of action for a few days or weeks. It’s nothing serious, Take care! but… I have one question?”

In response to the assault, MJF gloated about his actions in a subsequent post, writing, “HAHAHAHAHAHA How you know? OH I KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED!” Andrade disclosed on Instagram that his injuries required six stitches.

The rivalry between Andrade and MJF has been unfolding since MJF’s former association with the Don Callis Family. Andrade parted ways with the faction as MJF reclaimed the AEW World Championship from Darby Allin at Double or Nothing.

Following MJF’s title loss to Kenny Omega, he returned with his personalized Triple B title, proclaiming it the legitimate championship. MJF is determined to reach All In and secure another title opportunity.
