Israel has maintained its military operations in Gaza even after a ceasefire was agreed upon last October. The Israeli forces continue to control significant portions of the Gaza Strip.
On July 28, U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. This meeting comes amid ongoing tensions and military actions in the region.
Trump had earlier announced a 15-point plan designed to bring peace to Gaza. However, Israel has rejected this plan. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that the Israeli forces will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas, the ruling authority in Gaza for nearly 20 years, fully disarms.
Trump revealed that there had been a breakthrough in his peace efforts last month. Both Israel and Hamas initially agreed to this plan last year, following the ceasefire agreement.
Despite these diplomatic efforts, Israel continues its military actions in Gaza. The conflict’s recent escalation traces back to the October 7, 2023, attack carried out by Hamas, which led to the ongoing war in Gaza.
