He stands accused of killing three individuals and inflicting serious injuries on his former partner in Saltillo. Authorities apprehended the 35-year-old at a border crossing as he attempted to leave Mexico with his 3-year-old son, according to reports from Mexican media.
Allegations Against Eberle
The shooting incident took place at a residence in Saltillo, the capital of the Coahuila state in Mexico, during a custody dispute involving Eberle’s son. Eberle reportedly visited the home to take custody of the child when a disagreement ensued. He allegedly fired shots, resulting in the deaths of three people and critically injuring the boy’s mother.
The victims, as identified by the La Razon de Mexico newspaper, include Ana Laura de León Morín, 44; Laura Jaquelín Morín de León, 22; and Emanuel Montero Gómez, 44. The child’s mother, a 26-year-old former partner of Eberle, was also shot and seriously wounded.
A warrant was issued for Eberle’s arrest, listed by officials as Chad N, for femicide and aggravated homicide. The Coahuila Attorney General’s Office noted the warrant in social media posts prior to his apprehension.

Authorities were able to track Eberle as he moved toward the U.S.-Mexico border. A social media post confirmed his custody. He was detained at International Bridge II in Piedras Negras, Mexico, connecting to Eagle Pass, Texas, on the night of August 4, preventing his entry into the United States.
Eberle was subsequently transferred to the Saltillo Men’s Penitentiary where he remains as the legal proceedings continue. The child was placed under the care of PRONNIF, Mexico’s child protection agency.
Coahuila Attorney General Federico Fernández stated Eberle was made available to judicial authorities following the execution of the arrest warrant. Communication between Mexican authorities and the U.S. Consulate is ongoing.

Eberle has a significant history in Texas law enforcement over the past decade. He earned his Texas peace officer license in January 2017 and has since achieved various certifications. His military service is also recorded in his Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) files and mentioned by KTXS.
His law enforcement experience spans multiple Texas departments, including Northside Independent School District Police Department, Bexar County Constable’s Office Precinct 2, and others.
