Rechsteiner’s Suspension Affects Saints’ Roster Plans

The New Orleans Saints have undertaken significant changes to their wide receiver lineup during the offseason. The team invested in young talent, selecting Jordyan Tyson with the eighth overall pick in April’s draft. They also picked Bryce Lance in the fourth round and Barion Brown in the sixth round. Additionally, they signed undrafted free agent Brock Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner.

Recently, however, the Saints faced a setback when the NFL announced Rechsteiner’s suspension. As per the league’s transaction wire on Thursday, Rechsteiner will miss the first six games of the 2026 season. The reason for his suspension remains undisclosed.

Rechsteiner, 23, had an impressive college tenure at Jacksonville State. Over 23 games, he made 53 receptions, gaining 629 yards and scoring seven touchdowns. Despite his suspension, he retains the ability to practice and participate in preseason games. His suspension will commence once the Saints trim their roster to 53 players on August 30.

Interestingly, Brock Rechsteiner isn’t the first in his family to explore opportunities in the NFL. His cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner, better known as Bron Breakker in the WWE, signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 as an undrafted free agent fullback, although his stint was brief.

Brock has expressed his intention to eventually pursue a career in professional wrestling, following in the footsteps of his family. The Steiner Brothers, including his uncle Rick Steiner, joined the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022.
