Rhett explained that Akins cherished a simple lifestyle, growing up in a ‘real country’ setting, which often included stargazing with her father.

The couple’s history dates back to first grade. They had a brief relationship in high school and reconnected after Akins graduated college. They married at the age of 22. Rhett acknowledged the challenges that fame presents, citing examples like opportunities to skip lines, which he personally avoids.

Rhett noted that his career surged between 2017 and 2019. This period introduced new complexities into his life, making it harder for him to find joy in simple situations. He admitted that the adrenaline rush of performing for thousands of fans is difficult to replicate outside of shows.

The couple has five children: Willa, Ada, Lennon, Lillie, and Brave. Balancing family life with a demanding career isn’t easy. Rhett shared the importance of maintaining a strong marital relationship by continuing to date his wife, even amidst the responsibilities of parenting.
