Barry Manilow Reschedules Kentucky Show Due to Health Concerns

2 hours ago 0

Renowned singer Barry Manilow postponed his show in Kentucky just 45 minutes before it was scheduled to begin. He announced the decision on X, citing ‘unforeseen circumstances’. Manilow, who revealed his lung cancer diagnosis last year, did not offer further details about the rescheduling.

Fans expressed mixed reactions. Some labeled the late change as inconsiderate, while others offered their support. Messages of encouragement included one from a user who wrote, ‘Take care and remember you must come first.’

In December, Manilow disclosed he had early-stage lung cancer. His diagnosis followed the discovery of a cancerous spot on his left lung after recovering from bronchitis. He shared on Instagram that an MRI, prompted by his doctor’s caution, revealed the spot, which was found early thanks to his attentive healthcare provider.

The singer’s health issues led to the postponement of his ‘Christmas A Gift of Love’ concerts for surgery. He emphasized no need for chemotherapy or radiation, joking about comfort from chicken soup and watching ‘I Love Lucy’ reruns.

Earlier this year, Manilow announced further performance delays following a distressing consultation with his surgeon. His doctor advised him against a strenuous 90-minute show, noting his lungs were not ready.

Despite a series of cancellations since his diagnosis, Manilow remains optimistic. In May, he shared that his cancer treatment was going well, despite affecting his scheduled ‘Hits Come Home’ residency in Las Vegas. He updated fans, saying he anticipates returning to performances in the UK in June. He humorously remarked on his progress and the exercises he’s been doing, expressing eagerness to see his UK fans soon.
