Bret Michaels, known for his musical talent, has shared a recent health update with fans following an issue with a kidney stone. On Wednesday, July 22, the 63-year-old musician used Facebook to discuss his recovery after a procedure to remove a kidney stone that had not passed naturally.
In his post labeled #WisdomWednesday, Michaels expressed gratitude to healthcare workers who assisted him during this challenging time. He recounted waiting almost seven days for the stone to pass, during which he performed in Charleston, WV, Grantville, PA, and at Fairchild AFB in Spokane for veterans, active service members, and their families.
“The pain became intense but, as usual, I played through,” Michaels wrote, highlighting his determination.
After his third concert, Michaels was admitted to the hospital as the pain became unbearable. He informed followers that the operation to remove the stone was successful and he is now in recovery.
“I’m doing everything within my power to feel better and continue playing great shows,” he stated.
Michaels emphasized the importance of family, friends, and healthcare workers, noting their significant roles in personal health. A photo accompanying the update showed Michaels in a hospital bed, wearing a baseball cap and connected to monitors. He humorously mentioned having to change from his show attire into a hospital gown.
Fans wished him well in comments, showing their support. One comment read, “Can’t keep a good man down brother. Keep on keeping on,” while another added, “Glad you’re doing better, brother. Sending prayers and love.”
Before the procedure, Michaels had mentioned the discomfort from the kidney stone following his Spokane performance on Instagram. Despite the pain, he insisted on giving his fans a great show.
In related headlines, Michaels discussed his daughter Raine’s decision to sell pictures of her feet on a site called FeetFinder during a June episode of “Calabasas Confidential.” He supported her decision, calling it a “brilliant” move. Michaels also shares a daughter named Jorja with his partner Kristi Lynn Gibson.
This update highlights Michaels’ resilience and the support he has from fans and family during his recovery period.
